6061 aluminum plate (UNS A96061) is a heat-treatable magnesium-silicon alloy offering 290 MPa tensile strength (T6 temper) and 240 MPa yield strength, making it ideal for aerospace frames, marine components, and automotive chassis. With 12% elongation (ASTM E8) and 95 HB hardness, it combines machinability, weldability, and stress-corrosion resistance for load-bearing structures. The alloy achieves 151-202 W/m·K thermal conductivity and 68.9 GPa elasticity modulus, suitable for heat sinks and vibration-damping systems.
