With a controlled carbon content (0.15% max), our 302 plates deliver ≥620 MPa tensile strength – 20% higher than 304 – while maintaining ≥40% elongation. When higher yield strength is needed for springs, clips, or formed parts without severe corrosion exposure. -
Does work hardening affect corrosion resistance?
No – cold working increases strength but retains corrosion properties in annealed areas. -
Maximum service temperature?
425°C continuous; 870°C intermittent (avoid 425–860°C due to σ-phase risk). -
Can 302 be used in marine environments?
Not recommended – switch to 316L if chlorides >50 ppm. -
